It was so much fun to be back at Upstream Music Fest for a second year, this time on the Main Stage with Miguel and The Flaming Lips. We were also invited to do three “secret shows” for some big sponsors, one of which was live streamed off the Weyerhaeuser rooftop. Seattle never looked so pretty from up there.

What I love about playing big stages like this is even though it’s festival style and we’re pretty much ushered in and out, the sound is monstrous, and it’s like always like a dream sequence that goes by way too fast. I have to remind myself to let go and be present in the moment at each step of the way so I can remember it later. It was cool to be on before The Flaming Lips because they always bring a shitload of stage props and it looked like we actually had some dope stage design during our performance!

I will say that the coolest part of Upstream Music Fest was watching my kids play on the same field as the Sounders from the balcony of our greenroom, a private suite in CenturyLink Field. The goals were set up for an upcoming Sounders game, and the production crew was super cool and threw my kids a soccer ball to play with. It was an epic evening.
